This according to the latest market research report “Mobile Messaging Futures” released by Portio research.
We havent forked out the 3000 odd clams yet that Portio is asking for a copy – but Leading mobile news gurus Fierce Wireless reported some of the key stats as:
* Worldwide Messaging Revenues set to exceed USD 233 billion by 2014
* In 2009 worldwide SMS traffic topped 5 trillion messages, and that figure is set to exceed 10 trillion in 2013
* MMS revenues for 2009 amount to almost USD 27 billion
* Mobile IM revenues to be worth USD 18 billion by 2014
